GROUNDING - Recover and Recharge

Grounding allows the Human body to recirculate energy via making contact with the earth barefoot or body with its connection and the more body contact the more effective it is studies have shown.


From the scientific studies showing rapid improvements in inflammation to Tour de France, professional cycling teams are using grounding techniques, They were grounding their athletes after each gruelling 140km stage to help them recover faster. A baby was nursed back to health from its Mother who is also a GP professional standing barefoot in the garden when modern medicine couldn't help. There have been limitless numbers of reports curing depression. 


Imagine you have the worlds most advanced cell rechargeable battery, even though its cutting edge technology you still need to hook it up to a power supply every now and again to balance the flow of its power to keep it working efficiently. Humans are no different, we are a cell operating system which is positively charged all the time, atoms and light smashing every second like a ticking time bomb powering the most advanced system on the planet full of positive ions. 


In fact, you're likely breathing them in right now as most homes are polluted with positive ions also. Other potential downsides of absorbing too many positive ions include higher inflammation levels, mood swings, chronic pain, worsened allergies, and more. But how and where can we get our flow going like the cell battery I mentioned?

Well the earth gives out negative ions, Making the +plus, to the -negative, and restoring balance. 



The most important benefit of negative ions is that they clear the air of airborne allergens such as pollen, mold spores, bacteria and viruses. ... Negative ions perform this function by attaching themselves to positively charged particles in large numbers and negatively charging those particles in the body.


Grounding neutralizes free Radicals. 

Free radicals are generated through inflammation, infection, cell damage, trauma, stress, and our toxic environments.


Grounding my way to Recovery

A few years ago I was travelling on the motorway I was late for a bicycle race. The speedo was clocking way more than I should have been legally doing, you can work that out from your country's limits. In the blink of an eye a car had crossed over from the on coming lane and we collided head on, I remember thinking: "yes, this is it."


When I woke up in the back of an ambulance strapped to a spinel board and a neck brace I realised this wasn't good but luckily i was still alive. After months of going to physiotherapy I was still in pain.


A friend recommended that I go see an older man who was an osteopath, so I booked in. When I arrived I watched him walking around his clinic barefoot, as he cracked slapped and left me feeling like a new penny after putting me through hell and back he said: "I want you to earth for one hour every day and I don't need to see you again". He explained some science behind wearing shoes. He said humans covering their soles and being laced up cant be healed from the earth. I smiled and left thinking "what a wacko", but I looked it up. I started reading how tour de France athletes were doing it after crashing and speeding recovery. As an international cyclist I read no more. That was enough for me.


That day I took my shoes and socks off and planted them down in my back garden grass, I sat for around 40 to 50 minutes and that first night I got up thinking "well I'll keep it up and see how it goes". That night I had the best sleep I had in months I woke to the words "Wow!". I was hooked from that first evening. The pain dissolved rapidly.


I now spend around 70% to 80% of my full day grounded, I have adapted my daily shoes with copper rivets through the ball of my toe to a copper mesh cord running from the inner heel to the outside of the shoe. I also have a grounding mat under my desk which is connected to the earth plug socket on the wall and I sleep with grounding rod in my front garden connected to a wire running up my house through my window and connected to 3 bracelets which I attach to both ankles and wrist, YES you just read that right! I walk barefoot as much as possible.


When you experience the benefits I have been given from doing all this you would understand why I will never let this practice leave my life and why I take every advantage of getting this Free life force. I have probably read mostly every book on the subject on grounding and read science studies watched all the films and YouTube videos made from the god father of grounding Clint Ober and other leaders on grounding but it doesn't matter what I've watched or what I have read as the second my feet touch the earth or sea or step into that river I feel it. I feel that direct link with me and our mother earth and I Feel I don't have to think and don't have any need to remind myself what I read as it's there under my feet and I observe it. 

The Science of Grounding

You may or may not know that the earth gives off a frequency of 7.83 Hz from the earths magnetic field which gives grounding its many benefits. This frequency has been researched and many suggest that it can improve blood flow to the cerebral cortex and helps carry more nutrients to the brain. The cerebral cortex is the largest site of neural integration in the central nervous system. It plays a key role in attention, perception, awareness, thought, memory, language, and consciousness.

Sea water is one of the best forms of grounding as the salt water, coupled with the crashing of waves, increases the negative ions. Waterfalls are excellent for grounding too! So when the human body comes into contact with the negative ions, the positive ions are attached releasing the free radicals. I have found if I haven't made contact with the earth in a few days for any given reason l ike travelling or working away or while not wearing earthing shoes, I seem to pick up electrical static energy in the form of a shock, ie from a car or metal door. 

WOUND HEALING Grounding produces measurable differences in the concentrations of white blood cells, cytokines, and other molecules involved in the inflammatory response in the tissue. Grounding reduces pain and alters the numbers of circulating neutrophils and lymphocytes, and also affects various circulating chemical factors related to inflammation.


As I actually write this blog my daughter is recovering. When I say recovering, I mean fully recovered from getting her appendix removed. She is 9 years old and wanted to come home the next day to ground. After discussing with the surgeon he agreed only as my wife Joanne is a nurse. Holli my daughter hooked herself up to the earth via tools we have at home as I have written about In the 1st part, One week after surgery her 4 inch wound is completely healed she never took pain relief after leaving the hospital and that was her own choice as she said she didn't need to take any when grounded and as a parent I kept a very close eye on this and would have given her some if for one second I thought she needed it even with all my beliefs in the healing powers from being connected the mother earth, But No, Each day as my wife changed her dressing she was in disbelief at the speed of this healing process within days she was walking barfoot out in our garden, and at this very moment she is playing outside on the trampoline!! Yes one week one day after surgery as if nothing ever happened, This has even reinforced my  own belief in the power of nature as it has affected me first hand.  Here you have some deep information on the intricacies of grounding. In reality, it's pretty simple, just take your shoes and socks off or place your hands on the ground and do it.
